Inspire, Connect and Enable
The project aims to work specifically with Muslim and Minority Ethnic women over 16 that are experiencing loneliness and isolation. It is focused on improving wellbeing, expanding social networks and increased knowledge about Scotland and its’ culture as well as knowledge on rights and entitlements.
There are three main parts to this project:
The first are group sessions and activities.
These will be centered around Arts and Crafts, Drama, well being workshops, skills such as First Aid and improving confidence. These are twice a month, during term time.
The second is peer led skill sharing sessions.
Women can take the lead and ownership of activities by delivering sessions to the rest of the group. They are supported by staff in planning and hosting sessions and given training throughout to equip them with the skills needed. This provides them with a chance to learn from one another, improve their English skills, and increase their confidence.
The third and final part: trips.
There will be 4 trips a year where the group will have the opportunity to discover and explore not only Dundee, but the rest of Scotland. This is to connect women with and introduce them to new places to go and areas to visit, encouraging them to access services and spaces not always accessed by minority communities. It is of course, to also make fantastic memories with the group too!
Women can self refer or be referred directly to the project by contacting the Dundee office or emailing email@example.com
The helpline is a listening ear for women across Scotland. All calls are strictly confidential and non-judgemental; we always deal with clients in a faith and culturally-sensitive manner.
We can help women in English, Urdu, Arabic, Bangla and Swahili and, when required, using online interpreting.0808 801 0301
