INFORMATION & ADVICE VOLUNTEER

This service is available in the Glasgow office on Mondays 10am - 12noon and on Wednesdays 10am - 12.30pm. We can advise on anything from reading letters to filling in forms and applying for benefits or housing.

TasksTo provide advice and information to women on a range of subjectsTo maintain and develop the resource bankTo develop and maintain contacts with specialist advisors, and refer to them where necessary before giving adviceTo make referrals To provide advice to statutory and voluntary agencies on the needs of Muslim women
Essential qualities:
  • Good at talking and listening to people
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Organised
  • Good verbal communication skills
Desirable qualities:
  • Can communicate in a community language and English
  • Experience of gathering and collating informationExperience establishing databases
