They will specifically target multiple discrimination, including socio-economic inequality, and the intersection of race, gender, age and poverty.
Objectives:Raise awareness of the Act and its potential to tackle discrimination more effectively, particularly in the areas of multiple discrimination and equality mainstreaming.Build the capacity and confidence of the voluntary and community sector.Provide practical examples of how to find solutions to combat discrimination.Highlight the significance of violence against women and racism as key but invisible issues in poverty.Develop confidence and leadership skills among ethnic minority women in communities.Improved practice of tackling discrimination and promoting equality.
In 2011, Amina MWRC will be using toolkits and interactive resources to provide various organisations in Scotland training on the Equalities Act.
